Centrebet originated from Alice Springs, Northern
Territory and was the first bookmaker to be licensed in Australia in
1992 and the first bookmaker to go online in the Southern Hemisphere
in 1996. Centrebet was acquired by its biggest domestic rival, the 'SportOdds
Group' in 2003 for the sum of AUD$ 46.55 million. In 2005, SportOdds
merged its Centrebet, SportOdds.com and SuperOdds.co.uk businesses
into one entity, known as Centrebet. Con Kafataris is the CEO of the

Odds are definitely better than average. Don't be
surprised to see Centrebet's odds on top of any market or sport,
which they offer. Big markets are operated on 5-7 % margin, smaller
ones - on 7-10 %. These margins are quite reasonable and fair for
the players. Even better, the odds are stable and change in less
degree than some other bookmaker's ones. Time of release is
standard, 3-4 days before the event usually, and earlier for the
biggest markets. Centrebet's favourites and underdogs odds are
balanced, still underdogs offer better value in most cases.
