Betting systems
Do you know how to use systems? Systems are made for covering bets in all or almost all possible outcomes. With systems you can lose a selection or too and in the end still win money. Here are some widely used systems and their explanations, starting with most simple ones:
Singles
A Single is a bet on one event.
Doubles, Trebles, Four-Folds, Five-Folds, Six-Folds, Seven-Folds, etc...
A Double is one bet on 2 selections. Both must be successful to get a return. Treble is a one bet on three selections, Four-Folds is one bet on four selections, Five-Folds is a one bet on five selections, and so on. All selections must be correctly predicted to win.
Fold
Using fold bets is a good way to ensure a return in an accumulator even if not all of your selections wins. When preceded by a number, a fold indicates the number of selections in an accumulator. An 8-Fold would be an accumulator with 8 selections. Example:
If you choose 5 selections, you can place a three fold bet which means that if only three of your selections wins you can still expect a return. The way it works is that it effectively bets on every combination of three teams winning so therefore you are actually placing ten separate bets involving all possibilities of three teams winning, therefore the overall cost of the bet will be ten times your stake. Then, the more of your selections that win, the higher the return.
Trixie
A Trixie is a multiple bet consisting of 4 bets with 3 selections. The bet breakdown is 3 doubles and 1 treble.
Patent
7 bets comprising 3 selections:
3 singles,
3 doubles,
1 treble.
One successful selection is needed to guarantee a return.
Yankee
This is made up of 11 bets involving 4 selections:
6 doubles,
4 trebles,
1 accumulator.
Two successful selections are needed to guarantee a return.
Canadian
Also known as a Super Yankee. This is made up of 26 bets, so the overall cost will be 26 times you're stake. It consists of:
10 doubles,
10 trebles,
5 four-folds,
1 accumulator.
Two successful selections are needed to guarantee a return.
Heinz
This is made up of 57 bets involving 6 selections:
15 doubles,
20 trebles,
15 four-folds,
6 five-folds,
1 accumulator.
Two selections must come off for a return.
Each-Way
This is two bets combined so the overall cost will be two times you're stake. It involves one bet for your selection to win and one for it to achieve a place. The place odds are determined by the individual conditions of each event. A 5$ each-way bet will cost 10$ in total. Example:
An Each-Way bet on Chelsea to win the premiership would involve one bet on them to win it and one bet on them to finish in the top 3.
Goliath
This is made up of 247 bets involving 8 selections:
28 doubles,
56 trebles,
70 four-folds,
56 five-folds,
28 six-folds,
8 seven-folds,
1 accumulator.
Two selections must come off for a return.

| ’90 minute Betting’ explanation: | In matches where there is a possibility that ‘extra time’ may be used to decide the winner, the term ‘at 90 minutes’ is used to indicate that bets will be resulted on the score after 90 minutes of play, also known as ‘normal time’. 90 minute betting includes stoppage time added at the end of each half. Bet types which stipulate ‘at 90 minutes’ or ‘after 90 minutes’ will not be affected by what occurs in ‘extra time’ or a ‘penalty shootout’. |
| Advance To Next Round: | Select a team to progress to the next round of the tournament or event. |
| Both Teams To Score: | Select whether both teams, only one team or neither of the teams will score in the nominated match within 90 minutes play. |
| Correct Score: | Select the correct final score of the game after 90 minutes play. |
| Exacta: | In correct order, select the two teams that will finish the season in 1st and 2nd position on the ladder. |
| Exact Goals: | Select the exact amount of combined goals that will be scored in the match after 90 minutes play. |
| First Half Correct Score: | Select the correct score for the match at the half time break. |
| First Goal Scorer: | Select a player to score first goal for the match, or that there will be no goals scored, or that the first goal will be an own goal, within 90 minutes play. Refunds payable on players who take no part in the match prior to the first goal being scored. If scores 0 - 0 after 90 minutes play, winning option is ‘No goals scored’ |
| First Team To Score: | Select which team will score first in the match or that no goals will be scored within 90 minutes play. |
| Goal Margin: | Select which team will win the match and by how many goals or that the match will result in a draw after 90 minutes play. |
| Group Top Goalscorer: | From the group listed, select which player will score the most goals for the tournament or event. In the event of a tie, dead heat rules apply. |
| Group Winner: | Select the team to finish at the top of their pool at the end of the Group Stage of the tournament or event. |
| Half Time/Full Time Double: | Select the result of the match at half time, and at the end of 90 minutes play. |
| Half Time Result: | Select which team will be leading, or that scores will be level, at the half time break of the match or event. |
| Handicap: | Season bet type where team is given a handicap, indicated by (+pts), to be added to their final points tally. The team with the highest points total after handicaps applied will be declared the winner. |
| Individual Team Score | Within a range, select the total number of goals the team will score for the nominated tournament or event. |
| Last Goalscorer: | Select which player will score the last goal of the match within 90 minutes play. If scores 0 - 0 after 90 minutes play, winning option is ‘No goals scored’. |
| Line: | After 90 minutes play, the goal value is added (if +) or subtracted (if -) from a team’s score to decide bet result. Half goal values are used to avoid dead heats. |
| Method Of Result: | Select which team will win the nominated match and whether the win will be in ‘normal time’, in ‘extra time’ or by ‘penalty shoot-out’. |
| Most Goals – Team: | Select which team will score the most goals for the tournament or event. Penalty shoot-outs will not be taken into account. |
| Number Of Red Cards: | Select the number of red cards awarded in the match. |
| Number Of Yellow Cards: | Select the number of Yellow Cards awarded in the match. |
| Quinella: | Select the two teams to make the final of the tournament. |
| Relegation: | Select a team to finish the season in one of the bottom three positions on the table. |
| Result: | Nominate which team will win or that the match will be drawn after 90 minutes play. |
| Team 1 Score: | Select within a range how many goals the nominated team will score for the match after 90 minutes play. |
| Team 2 Score: | Select within a range how many goals the nominated team will score for the match after 90 minutes play. |
| Time Of 1st Goal: | Select within a range, at what time in the match the first goal will be scored within 90 minutes play. If scores 0 - 0 after 90 minutes play, winning option is ‘No goals’. |
| To Qualify: | Select which team will progress to the specified stage of the nominated tournament or event. Includes ‘extra time’ or penalty shoot-out. |
| Top Goal Scorer: | Select the player to score the most goals for the season or tournament. In tournament betting, goals scored in penalty shoot-outs do not count. If players level, dead heat rules apply. |
| Total Goals Under/Over: | Select whether the combined total of team’s scores for the match will be Under or Over 2.5 goals after 90 minutes play. |
| Winner: | Select team to win nominated Championship, tournament or event. |
